Most of the youpon grows around edges of the wetter area, bays, and cypress ponds. If your wet enough the slow back burn shouldn't reach much of it before it burns out.

… I don’t hit the government woods much anymore.. not like I used to when prices were higher

… back then there were a couple times I had them burn in areas I had sets … I had to get them pulled when I saw firebreaks being cut

Driving around in smoke all day is wonderful! As for affecting the critter's from my experience the coyotes come running to the burned over spots the next day! No doubt finding all sorts of dead crap already charred for them to eat.

… lol … had a couple mishaps I can’t put in here

But now… got the sheriff thinking I’m the new dog catcher around here … they got a cage trap that they use to catch dumped dogs … it’s too small and they end up making half the dogs trap shy … then he calls me to get them with a dirthole

… I told him one day … some California peta transplant going to see a dog bouncing around in the trap … take a pic and you’ll be on national news lol

As a kid I caught neighbors woods on fire while
burning / playing with model planes and boats.

Thought I was in for it.

Later in life he told me
that 2 acres was the be$t timber of his 80.

I will start my burning plans tomorrow, otherwise I will run out of time to get it all burned. Not many suitable days in the Midwest come Spring that the wind isn't blowing too hard.

Go get em Savell.
Will be watching for updates.
We have some mild weather here for next several days, a treat in early February.
Going to start clearing some dead trees and small crap I can get to now while there are no weeds, skeeters, or ticks to deal with. I swear we could put a hurt on the little cedars and locust trees but the very next year it looks like we don’t clear anything.
Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
