I’ve never tried it but I guess you can make hard ‘boiled’ eggs in the air fryer. Anyone ever tried it?

Ive made eggs in the oven baked right in paper carton they came in. Tap a hole in the small end of the shell. Stick something in there and scramble the yoke and white together. Or put straw in blow egg out scramble them add your salt pepper whatever you like. Use a baster or small funnel, put back in the shell. Stand them back in botton half of paper carton open end up. Im pretty sure foam carton would melt but pa I er type dont burn. Right now I cannot the temperature I set oven at but was lower. I believe run time was 20 minutes. Been probably 10 years since tried that so dont recall settings. Eggs turned out good but different with no yoke in middle. I have smoked them and pickled them done that way. Is just egg done different.

Have you heard of the tapping spoon method? Its interesting. = https://youtu.be/blqou1URmG4

I always thought the trick was cold eggs into hot boiling water and hot eggs into cold water... The big temp swings is what you are after.

I think sometimes they just stick. I never tried the instapot method but alot of people swear by it.

Makes me wonder about just steaming them... rolling pot of boiling water with a steam basket over putting cold eggs into the basket so the water never stops boiling (sealed tight with lid) and then putting the hot eggs into ice water.
Having never tried it or even hearing of it I don't know but I'm betting that would work good.

Yeah I guess thats a thing too. I will be trying that. = https://youtu.be/s9m6kRyakm4

Spoon tapped steamed eggs... hmm... make a video and be famous.

I boiled a few today for salads using my method above. Fell right out of the shells and none of that green on the yolks from overcooking.

Well I guess its ADC for the win!
At least on this 2 dozen eggs. Stopped at KT yesterday evening grab 2 dozen.
If I'm being honest I have dont this method pretty dang close many times. Difference was I was going 10 minutes and not watching time that closely. This time I actually followed directions as closely as I could. Isn't that a hoot. Lmao

So here we are 2 dozen nicely peeled eggs. Did have two that cracked during boiling. Think that has happened every time ever boiled eggs get one. They still peeled fine came out in one piece.
Guess I will have to keep doing my eggs this way until I see different.
These store bought eggs sure have a thin shell compared to Amish brown eggs.

In the pot ready to go.

Pot in sink with cold water running. If you think looks little off color it is. I used good dose pink salt not plain white.

Got them all peeled and looking pretty.

This batch is in a mustard sauce been wanting to try. More of a dressing because no pickling spice like most recipes.

I tried the dano’s seasoning 10-5-10 method last time and they peeled great.Boil water then put in eggs bring back to boil for 10 minutes move to bowl for 5 minutes then put ice and cold water in bowl for 10 minutes. This method is a pain but if you had a basket it would be super easy.Next time it will be ADC’s method.

Glad to help Mac. I set the timer on the stove to 8 min as soon as they start to boil. I'm not much of a recipe follower either, but this is an exception.

You gotta be careful loading them in the pot so you get a cracked one. lol

I think using a basket would be handy. I have one for one of my bigger kettles use outside. I think Even just a plate in pot to stand the eggs off the bottom of pot. Im sure they would heat more evenly. My thing is I don't have just one pot I use. It all epends on how many Im boil 4 eggs or 4 dozen??

I realized just few minutes ago. I did not put any onions in that last jar? Dang it.. Might have to go grab it back out cellar room? Or go as is and do it next time.

Mac here's another egg tip for you, store your egg cartons on their side when you're planning to make deviled eggs. It helps keep the yolks centered so you don't have that one paper thin white side after you cut them in half. Easier to fill without tearing them. wink

I was going to comment on how perfect that cut open egg in your picture was-that’s an awesome tip.

Makes sense they dont stand on end in nest. The human element easier too store and ship i guess standing on end. Big schemes of things in general makes no difference. But you can bet next batch i plan to do . Will try the on side thing for at least over night.

Nice , but why cross wise on the cut?
Deviled eggs are lengthwise?

Laying them on their side, kind of makes sense, except for how long and who does that on the kitchen counter?
I always store point down, but this is very interesting, as it holds much truth.

If you will take a needle or pin, and pierce a small hole in the shell before you boil them.. they will peel perfectly 100% of the time.. I read this years ago and it actually works!
