Kinda a hectic week but I'm here with a good start. I don't have great service but will update when I can and get into the details when I get home. Working through the ridiculous amount of coon and possums as well as feral, a few deer trips and a couple cow stomps. I'm even getting a few coon in flat sets with turds and gland lure. Having a blast and weather is outstanding. It's 101 miles from my last set to the house I'm staying at. My wife has one of her horses here and will be down Tuesday for a week of barrel racing. I throw some pictures out of the things we don't see everyday in upper Michigan.

I'm going to have to wait until we go somewhere with better service to upload pics.

Still a good amount of traps that need to go in the ground but I'm rolling along.

Looks like it's going to be pretty warm for awhile but aleast you don't have to deal with the snow and ice we had recently. We ended up with 4 inches of sleet and it stayed on for well over a week. Basically shut my trapline down but I've caught a couple cats and a coyote and 2 coons the last 2 checks.

I was here last year for 11 inches of snow and 13 degrees. The year before, it rained every day except pull day. I will gladly take 84 degrees tomorrow.
When do the snakes usually come out? I would be OK with not having to see one.

I wouldn't be surprised to see one out sunning this week!

Started setting last Tuesday and after today's check, I'm at 65 coon, 14 possum, 13 coyotes, 4 beaver, 3 cats, and 1 skunk. I'm pretty sure I'm done with beaver, I left the sets out just to make sure but they were just stock ponds with very little indication that they held more than one beaver each. I will see if I can get more pics to load.

Nice catches!

Red dirt country looks like down along the Red River maybe?

Awesome pics. Definitely different. Sounds like you're off to a good start, minus the hot weather.

It was another fun day. 13 coon, 5 possum, and a coyote. Had feral dogs come through 2 of the properties. A few more sets are going in daily and picked up some more locations from word of mouth. [Linked Image]

Slower day today and no coyotes. I have been trying to guard my footholds with DPs but more often than not I end up with critters messing around with my dirt hole sets. [Linked Image]
Picked up a couple skunks, 9 coon, and 2 possum for the day. Lost 2 k9 Jr's to a dozer and had the cattle get into one of my previously unoccupied areas and they stopped most of the sets, spent a little time helping the rancher get them gathered up and put away. [Linked Image]

Looks like a nice day, even with the cattle and dozer mishaps. Keep plugging away!

Great pictures. Are them hard shell possum tough to skin?

Trail cameras and fresh snow have broke a lot of trapper’s hearts.
