Where are all the weasels?

Tag elder swamps when I was up there was my go to the thicker the better a skidding road through the swamp was a big help getting around.

dry marshes,fence rows ,brush piles and stone piles

Cat tails and culverts is where I've found them too.

Pretty big outbreak in South Carolina amongst the unvaccinated.

I’m assuming you can’t find sign? If that is the case, I can’t find sign either in areas where 20 years ago I found plenty to trap. Last year I went back to those same areas and never found a track. I had trapped the tag alder swamps, cattail marches, high bush blueberry marches, old log piles and age-old rock/concrete piles, as well as kept an eye on the beaver marshes I was trapping at the time. NOTHING!!! Not a track!!!

This past January while trapping otter I found weasel sign in two locations and wished’em well!

I expect to see an increase here in the next few years. I have never seen so many mice and rabbits..

I had a couple spots with tracks before this heavier snowfall, set my boxes and haven't seen a track since. This thaw might get them back on top of the snow, It seems like everything here moved deeper in the swamp with the deep freeze, ice highways opened up fresh hunting grounds is my take on it here anyway.

no sign at any of my regular spots, same with a friend he normally get 10-20 a year and nothing this year,

Second year like that here. I’ve caught close to 150 a year and things have gone south. Idk what’s going on. I’m worried they might be headed in the same direction as mink and rats. First it was the rats. Then mink. Now weasel?
