He had the bow record in MI for a while. Killed it in 85. Supposedly same area as the mystery buck. 12 pt - 181"

He stacked up some real good ones in MI

Any pics?

Think he had a few official judges score the deer, none found anything out of the ordinary. If i went out and killed a record deer, even a 200" deer of a lifetime, its getting euro mounted and stuck with my other deer than ive never scored.

...think more than a few did find abnormalities....hence , the request for a simple xray.

Hansen made $60k a year for 10 years just going to outdoor shows with his mount. He could have sold it for over a mill.

Big difference between deer of a lifetime and actual world record.

Again, Mitch's choice. Dude is big buck killer of legendary status, no question there.

I’ll tell you why I don’t believe it. It’s obvious he didn’t shy away from getting a deer scored. IF AND ONLY IF an official scorer did score it and come up with the new record it’s not like they can un score it. No way a deer of that size was scored by only one person. Deer of that size would be scored before it was mounted which means just the skull plate was bare. No xray needed. If it got mounted before the 60 days drying time the taxidermist was bad.
Record holder at one time? He’s going to jump through any hoops he needs to unless there is something wrong with it

Of course this turned into a Rompola debate. Any rational thinker knows that deer is a fake, the guy went straight to that old tv show by Fred Trost or whatever his name is with the deer. Yet he refused to have it examined "because he didn't want the spotlight". LOL

Back to the original topic, Milo was a real good guy, just a regular Joe who went hunting with his buddies and got lucky. I hope that record stands as long as the Jordan Buck did before some guy who's whole world revolves around deer, gets lucky on some 5000 acre farm he's been strategically using to grow the next one. He will be missed by family, friends, and his community.

Read right before deer of a lifetime. I put record deer, i could care less if it was a record or not. Just like killin deer. I got no reason to doubt mitches buck. No envy here.
