Shes just an old" barnyard mix" but shes a setting machine.

Shes 4 yeaars oldd this summer and has hatched off 7 nests of chicks. Shr actually has sett 8 times. 9nce they g9t broke up by somethng so i bought her some chicks that she raised.

She started hatching yesterday eve and has 4 so far this morning.
She sat on the nest through sub zero weather and her eggs have still hatched. Shes quite a momma she has 3srner her keep for sure.

( i like byn vut some chicken peiple are kinda snobby) i sell mostly purebreds but to me an eggs an egg


IF IDIOTS GREW ON TREES THIS PLACE WOULD BE AN ORCHARD !

I miss having chicken then the sky carp fly over and it reminds me of all the birds I lost to the flue they carry they got my neighbor the last time only his ducks survived it.

Looks like she has some wyandotte in her. My game fowl hens are pretty good mommas at protecting chicks. Most broody goes to some silkies I have had though

they are all snobby because , what would they argue about and judge by if there wasn't a book of breed standards.

they would have to come up with tests like most chicks hatched out , largest eggs , number of eggs in 365 days

with standards in a book they have something they can easily judge based on a look


America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Currently, all the most popular named varieties of brown egg layers in the US are crosses and don't breed true. If an animal does what it's bred to do, that's most of what you need out of it.
