Isn't Puerto Rico where that Bad Bunny or Blue Bunny character is from?

Puerto Rico is part of the usa? Man that puts a whole new outlook on things.

Well as America's first president George Clinton said when he founded our country in 1822,

"Word,,,,,to your mother".

The last half dozen pairs of boots or footwear the soles came apart it’s not easy finding decent footwear today, for $140 I’m getting a pair to try I just glued the bottoms on my Wolverine hunting boots together I need a back up pair.

I have not had a need for a real good pair of boots like that for several years. But the best leather boots with Gortex and Thinsulate that I have ever owned were Rocky's !! I had bought a brown leather pair in the late 80's that had the Gortex and Thinsulate. They were always 100% waterproof and warm. They lasted me a good 15 or more years and were still darn good boots.I believe I gave them to a younger guy that desperately needed some decent boots that had real close to the same foot size as me.Other than not looking new from the years of wear and tear they were still really good boots and still waterproof.
Then I had bought a 2nd pair on sale at a Sporting Goods store that was being bought by a different but bigger sporting goods store.I think that first brown leather pair was around $130. Now the 2nd pair was black leather but basically the same. One difference is this pair of Rocky's were basically advertised as more like a work boot rather than a just mainly hunting /outdoor type boot.I think they were supposed to have retailed around $159. But I got them on sale for $89. This was around 2002 or so.I remember that because I had started a new job when I bought them. Those boots were just about as tuff to the best of my memory.
Now I have never had like real super expensive boots like 200 bucks or more.I know some of the factories I worked in some of the old timers would swear by one of about 3 or 4 different brands of real expensive boots were the best.I can't remember the name of the one that seemed most popular and liked. But it seems like maybe one of them was Irish Setter boots ? But I might be wrong on that. I just know that those Rocky boots I had seemed like really good boots to me.

Most shoe providers went to China but they didn’t get much cheaper price wise but the quality dropped off greatly. It seems most average priced shoes are glued together now just made to fail before that you would need to buy shoelaces now the shoes don’t last that long. LOL

Six or eight years back, I don't remember when exactly. I saw the made in usa advertising, which I try my best to support my fellow countryman. So I mail ordered three of four pairs. Before the boots got to me, I find out where they are actually made Puerto Rico. Once I get the boots I start wearing them immediately, I needed new boots.
One pair that I don't wear much, I still have. The other two or three pairs were ready for the burn pile in the first year, and some I believe shot in a month or two.

They're not usa made in my opinion. And they're the same junk boots they've been making since production left ohio. Also my opinion.

I owned several ohio produced pairs in the 90's, they were considerably better than the current line of junk.

Never liked the original ones the soles kept shifting off to the sides from walking the river break side hills it did that to a couple of pairs I had but that’s a extreme situation they probably were not designed for. It’s all junk out there today I’d rather go with a non China shoe or boot to try I already know what they make in China.

I’ll give them a shot my patched up Wolverine boots might make it through the next turkey season I hope but boots are expensive and boots are poorly made today unless a guy spends $400 bucks but not me.

I’m surprised if Midway sells them as made in USA even though Puerto Rico is a US territory it’s a little shady.

Puerto Rico is owned by the USA, it is a territory that they have attempted to make a state a few times but the Purto Ricans don't want to be a state. Don't know that I blame them for that necessarily. They vote in the Presidential election so I would say that makes them part of the USA.

As far as quality of boots after they moved their factory from Ohio to Puerto Rico, I can't say. But then I was never that impressed with Rocky boots regardless of where they were made. Not the worst out there but I didn't see good durability or waterproofness out of them. On the other hand they weren't that expensive. I don't like paying big money for boots, but I'm willing to do it if they will hold up and keep my feet dry, plus I have arch issues any more. Problem is most of the big money boots don't do that either. Just ordered a pair of Meindls to try, should be here tomorrow.

my wife and i were at the Kalamazoo show a couple years back where you first walked into the bigger building they had a huge display of boots to the right
i purchased 3 pair of rocky corn stalkers for me and my boys we wore them thru spring turkey season and all 3 soles came off of the boots tried to call the company but just got a machine each time
ended up throwing them out and kept the laces i would never buy Rocky boots again
