Good luck to anybody else that's getting ready to try and spear a dinosaur over the next 16 days. I've got my shack all set and ready to go on Lake Winnebago. For the first time in years the clarity is good enough that we can see the bottom. I'm hanging at local establishment right now but I'm rigged up to spend the next few nights camping on the ice in my shack.

Whatever you're doing this weekend, live life to the fullest! We lost a member of our hunting camp this week to a heart attack at 62 years old. Gone too soon, but never forgotten.

Born, all sorts of decoys! Copper bundt pans and white coffee mugs are some of the most popular, and I've got antlers, license plates, teeball trophies and hand carved decoys to try and lure them in.

Interesting, I have a friend who spears for pike and one of his favorite decoys is a golf ball.

Good luck, hope you get a 6 footer.

Help yourself.

20 24 inches of ice in most places on the lake. What are you seeing as to water clarity? That is one of the big factors in how long the season may go or the success rates.
Lots of shacks on the road the last couple days around our area. I live about 20 miles from Stockbridge which is in the center of the activity on the East shore side.

Clarity is good where we're at out of Pipe. We're set up in about 13-14 fow and can see all the way to the bottom.
