Im scheduled 12 hr rotating shifts. Here is my basic 4 week repeating schedule. Often i goes in early or stay out late 4 hr making for 16 hr shifts and I work a lot of days scheduled off. But also get a lot of days I can take off a month if I want
Days 7am-7pm Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs. Then im off 7 days scheduled back on
Nights 7pm -7am Friday, sat, sun, mon. For 3 days tues wensday Thursday ( this is the week im on now) back to work on days 7am to 7pm Friday , Saturday, Sunday, then off one day on Monday back to work 7pm to 7 am Tuesday wensday, Thursday. Off 3 days then back To 4 days 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Thursday then off 7 days.
Typically I work 16 hr days every day its offered and thats most days. Today was an exception since it was a Holliday I was not offered out lates or in early. Guys on their days off can in when called since call in on Holliday is triple time and a half. I will get double time and a half tonight for Holliday pay and probably a 4 hour out late at time and a half.
so I can have 7 days off in a roll each month 2 3 days chunks off and one day and a half day off. But the dayasm off coming off nights are useless so not as good as it sounds. I have been Typically working 6 or 7 of my days off usually the first two or 3 of my 7 off still getting 4 day's in a roll off and geting a nice pay check except when im on vacation/hunting seasion or the family has things going on.
I also have 4 weeks vacation so even though I work a lot of long days I have a lot of flexibility and still have more full days off than most people get. It sure is hard on the body not having a steady schedule geting older and add MS on top so im working on cutting back.
