Just finished Charlie Kirk's last book "Stop, in the name of God!"...

highly recommend it!

it laid out beautifully why humans need to stop, re-set and reconnect with God on a regular basis.

it also inspired me to implement some other changes in my life that I knew I needed; but kept putting off.

I should check it out. His passing really started a movement you can feel with the younger generation.

We as a family started to set a day aside to sabbath, and man has it been good! My wife and I are high energy, get crap done, kind of people. “You can sleep when you’re dead.” Has been my motto for years. We both have demanding jobs and odd/long hours. A guy has to get stuff done around the farm and house too! Plus time for kids and some activities. Didn’t know where we’d squeeze in a day off a week. But for ~3months now we’ve been trying to sabbath. No screen time, and we do our best to spend time together and chill. We still get some stuff done, but we’re more intentional about our time together and it’s great. I wish we’d have started sooner. And as a bonus, it’s a great excuse to take a break from the grind and go huntin, fishing and trapping!

That idiot that shot Charlie never realized the can of worms he opened up for Kirk's movement and his own life or what's going to be left of it.

that's great to hear, K9BeavCoon!

one of Charlie's main points was that this is a natural rhythm for humans; and ignoring it for too long often leads to anxiety, depression or other issues.

He also made the point that keeping the Sabbath is a rebellious act to the world's "demands"...kind of sticking your finger in the eye of the society that says you HAVE to bow down to its values.

I just finished the book, so I haven't implemented this into my life just yet.

But again, the book inspired me to address some other concerns I've had about what I need to change. I have no doubt that keeping the Sabbath will do other great things for me and my family!
