Checked cages today been having the baits taken or traps set off and pulled out of their set locations set off and the baits are missing. The missing baits I figure smaller possums, civets or barn rats most likely. The moved cages the coons are the most like suspect but it must be a hassle getting the fish chunks through that wire. The 1x2 wire not so much but the 1x1 wire must be time consuming but they get it done.
My cages were built to hold civets and barn rats so I doubt it’s an escape thing most likely just setting off the cages then they can't get in the cages or so small they don’t trip the triggers. I set the doors lighter but then they can be set off by the wind easier so it’s give and take. LOL

Do spotted skunks make decent pets like regular skunks do?
Keith Yes they have nice pelts they tan up nicely.

Pets with nice pelts. LOL I’d guess they would probably be very hyper I would get one if the opportunity arrived in heart beat. I think “Jack Russell “ hyper when I see them. I have video footage of them hitting my cat cubbies and later in the spring when they pair up. Interesting critters I leave my cameras out until the spring turkey season just to see what moving through my areas.

They go back and forth in and out of my cubbies without setting them off I leave them alone I’ve caught my share of them over the years. They are common in the old farm places and remote river break areas. Continuous cover is the key but that are disappearing quickly along with the old farms. Here’s one doing their famous handstand.
