I don’t catch many badgers here in Iowa. I have one finished, but would like to ask what folks use to get rid of that almost waxey like, almost a heavy oil like on their fur?? After it was dried, I was wishing I’d included it with my coyotes when I put them through the laundromat washing machine. I did a brief borax dry scrub…..ehhh… many thanks.

After I fleshed it washed it with mane&tail, then tumbled it, shook it out and on the board. Most of them I catch in Nov. and release as they haven't enough fur to cover their ears!

You should be able to wipe down the fur side with paint thinner to remove it. That's assuming you dried the pelt fur side out

Dwain, it will be easier for you to call, but the right procedure puts $ in your pocket!
