2012 Ram 2500 needed an exhaust manifold gasket, which usually is caused by, or accompanied by broken manifold bolts. Well I must have been living right today. With a liberal application of the hot wrench they all came out. One did fight me a little as seen by the slight bend, but was nice not having to drill any bolts out for once.

I know what you mean. I was just doing a job netting off a commercial building for birds, the blacktop had just enough slope the first couple days the scissor lift wouldn’t get me up high enough. Safety limits! Then the lift wouldn’t not load on the trailer, had to use a come along ! Last day done by 10:30 lift goes everywhere I need it to, and drives right onto the trailer to go back to rental lot. Not sure what all the problems , fresh charge on lift? Not raining? Some days just feel like you do everything right.

Exhaust is the worst for dry bolts unless you have the time to soak them in PB Blaster for days it’s risky getting them off. My D50 trucks have a heat exhaust tube that goes from the exhaust manifold to the carb that’s tough to get off in one piece. I soaked it for days in penetrating oil with a pipe wrench with a piece of pipe added and blocks of wood to keep constant pressure on it until it came loose.

Nice work. I always hated exhaust work for just that very reason.
