I spend hours working with a knife. not a cut then I pull out the box grater and it's never real bad , just really annoying that it seems to be what bites me.
with the stupid blood thinners , I gloved up so I could finish supper last night as I was having friends over , took the glove off and the entire finger of that glove was blood so then it looked 100x worse than it was .

Cut myself skinning often I just wrap it in a piece of paper towel and put a latex glove over it and keep working not much a guy can do about it really. The worse scars I have are from clearing brush catching a fresh caught trimmed limb when pitching a branch on a pile.

Here's a tip for ya, never use a mandoline slicer if you can't handle a grater. lol I lost the tip of the middle finger to that 26 years ago famous last works , "just one more slice !" and a decade later my brother did the exact same thing I even warned him you are going to think just one more slice and that will be it.

Yep.That's how it works. An electric meat slicer will get you the same way. "I don't need the guard for one more slice." lol

I had a decent scar on my wrist for several years from changing the door handle on a 2004 GMC 1500 , reaching up on there to get a nut undone , came back out bleeding all over the place. there was a sharp spot in the door I should have done the paper towel in the glove I though I had it stopped right before I gloved up to finish

Ever thought about putting on gloves before using the tool you get cut on?
Ya my wife bought me a Kevlar glove for deer processing becuse 8 out of 10 I will cut my left hand doing it. And no I dont ever wear it probably should but its just not natural after years of feeling what im cutting/holding.
But now that I think about it it may be nice to keep my hand from freezing in addition to not geting cut. butchering my left hand is the Dexter meat hook https://dexter1818.com/dia-4-hook-flat-handle/no cold and no cut I did the Kevlar glove on deer before I found the meat hook it is so much easier on the hands because you aren't using grip strength the super cheap white cotton string gloves inside your nitrile gloves also help to keep hands warm and safe on the cheap and they wash easy in the laundry.

I have this habit of nicking or cutting myself every time I work on anything. Not on blood thinners per say, but do take the daily baby aspirin. So now when I nick myself it looks like someone been killing chickens. I just tell people I sign all my best work with blood.

Stabbed myself in the side of my thumb couple days ago, badly…unloading dish washer. Hit something important now have no feeling there. Humbled I try and tell people NO KNIVES in dishwashers butter knives are ok it dulls the sharp knifes , it warps the scales , very hard on wood and as you pointed out if they are pointed up in the silverware there is a knife shop in Madison that posted a 200 dollar Wusthof chefs knife that was falling apart at one year old because the owner always put it in the dish washer. Wusthof specifically states do not put their knives in the dish washer. hand wash sharp knives , they stay sharp and if you run an inch of water in the sink , lay the few knives in and then wash them with a brush your fingers stay away from the edge , pick them up one at a time scrub rinse and set on a towel to dry or in a knife rack

Mac aspirin serves the same purpose

ahh , see I respect the knife and I respect the electric meat slicer I need to give the box grater more respect I probably use it 20+ times for every time I do get myself so then I get careless and slip.

Eliquis definitely has the ability to make the smallest nick look way more dramatic. When it’s broadhead sharpening time, you’d think I was assembling bombs . Do it behind closed doors to prevent a curious and emotionally needy pointer from bumping into me causing a big mess.

Window regulators and lock latches were the worst. Heated seat elements were bad too. Cadillac used stamped metal pans for the seats, I've cleaned more blood out of Caddy upholstery than I care to admit too.
