I tried watching that sport. That’s some high intensity stuff. Right up there with watching paint dry.

I was hoping for this matchup, but wanted it in the gold medal game. I usually root for the Canadian curling team but this year I really like the US team so I jumped ship.

We have a small amount of snow to melt yet, think we'll have the kids over and watch that

The rock closest to the center after each end (10 stones each) counts as 1. If the second closest stone is the same color as first stone it counts as 1 also and so on. If second closest is other teams color it doesn’t count so there is only one point for that end. Easy to keep track of actually. The circles are just for measuring, the best you can get is one point per rock, based on how close to the center it is.

Uplandpointer, The hammer just means who throws last rock for each end. It takes turns every other end. You can get the hammer twice in a row if you don’t score when you have it. Otherwise it just goes back and forth.

It will be another Miracle on Ice if USA can pull it out .

Hammer is whoever has last shot, usually a big advantage. Who ever scores at the end of the round gives up the hammer. Sometimes a good team will purposely lose a point to keep the hammer for the next round.

I used to make so much fun of curling,…then at around age 25, I played it. It’s actually very fun to play and much harder than it looks. I play in a beer league Wednesday nights with guys I play beer league softball with in the summer.

When it comes to watching, I prefer watching women’s curling, this year in particular, Italy’s team.
