It's a pretty good test. At the Aldi near me, many people even leave the quarter they paid to get the cart in the cart, when they return it to the rows of carts outside the doors. Often there is 5 to 8 carts that were returned, with the quarter still in them. I do the same. Blacks and Hispanics are rare in my county, but twice I've seen black people and once I've seen a Hispanic person, plugging all the carts together and taking all the quarters. I've never seen a white person doing that.
We had a lot of little honor stands with garden produce, eggs, jams, jellies and honey in my area. Many are gone now. One of the owners told me they stopped because Hispanic people were coming and taking everything without paying. They put cameras up and turned the footage over to the Sheriff's department but nothing ever happened about it.

Had a few back surgeries and I was greatful for the "slobs" that didn't return the carts. I would park right next to it and use it instead of hobbling across the lot for one. I always return it now that I'm healthy. And I vote.
There's always 2 sides to a story.
Are some people societies slobs? Yes indeed. But one of those carts could have been left by your 92 year old grandmother who was too weak and feeble to bring it back. If I see that type of situation I get the cart for them.
But I do understand your shopping cart analogy. Guess I just wanted to play the devils advocate

It amazes me how many slobs throw there trash including cigarette buts out the window or just throw it out period. take a look around the entryways of many stores (especially in strip malls)...how many plastic flossers do you see? I see them things in the strangest places, way out in the woods where you wouldn't think anyone has been in years, and here is a plastic flosser laying on the ground. What, are you hiking along and think, "you know what I should do? I should floss my teeth! Haven't done it in hours!"

What, are you hiking along and think, "you know what I should do? I should floss my teeth! Haven't done it in hours!" I think some hunters dip those flossers in doe urine or other scent and hang them in trees. I've seen sticky looking fluid on them. I also think hunters use them to mark distance. When I used to hunt public ground, I'd see those hanging on trails and near deer stands. Keith

If more people shot ducks on the water the world would be a better place. I haven't shot a duck for 30 years but my record still stands with 7 ducks killed with one shot from a 410 Nice

I haven't shot a duck for 30 years but my record still stands with 7 ducks killed with one shot from a 410 ...and here is the person that don't push the shopping cart to the cart corral. Probably wouldn't even consider returning the cart back inside the store......lol Plus, depending on the duck species, you may have killed over the limit...so, you'd likely steal the shopping cart, too.....lol

Reminds me of a young man a few years back that was interviewing to be a Georgia game warden (I was on the hiring board.) I asked the young man to tell me about his outdoor experience. He said he had lots of outdoor experience because he used to work at Walmart gathering shopping carts in the parking lot. He was NOT hired.......

Doves on a power lines illiegal here, and in most states i think. As for ducks on the water, my whole goals to finish ducks in the decoy. Aint above a good water swat.

Yes capable of pushing it back to the store, but most old or crippled people use it as a walking aid. That way they don't have to load and unload their walker. In this case it's about COMPASSION PennaTrapper for the old and feeble. NOT for lazy people that just don't care

If I gotta check myself out , buy a bag , bag my stuff .......I might be inclined to leave a cart in the back 40 Exactly. Why deny a young man a job gathering shopping carts? One practical reason is because the cart you leave might roll into someone's car before the lucky employee gets it. Regardless, he'll have a job anyway as he has to retrieve the carts from the corral.

We just carry ours out too. Also park far from front door and out in more open part of the lot when we can. Saves door dings and we get a little extra steps and carrying exercise too. Jim
