I am currently tumbling some bobcat pelts and notice the grit is sticking to the skin on the inside of the fur. Is this normal?

I am of course tumbling them fur side out but just noticed it sticking on the inside of the face and hind legs.

Yes, it sticks to those moist parts after skinning. Should come off when you flesh.
