Boy thats about how it goes lol. I never burned any buildings down. Knew not to boil in the house except maybe final litte finish. I did manage to burn the wife's enamel kettle one of the first batches I made. I didn't realize how fast it would burn once get close to syrup. Don't know recall what I stepped away to do. Came back to pot on fire. I do know full well would have been cheaper to buy what I made the first year.
Like every is a definite learning curve.
