9 o’clock last night…..



4am this morning…

As an emergency essential employee I had to at least attempt to make the 30 mile trek to the job starting at 3 am. The roads in Wicomico County were bad. However, the roads in Worcester County really s**ked. Trees across the road, intersections not plowed and trouble trucks trying to get power restored. I don't think Worcester County was prepared for this amount of snow. Normal 20 minute trip took nearly an hour. Don't go out unless you have to.

Snowing here. But that par for the course.

I think Spring has arrived here

30 this morning but the next several days the lows are in the upper 40's at the low end, highs 70+

I am in northern NJ for a bit. I have it on good authority from my bluetick hound, Tucker, that regardless of what the guy on the tv says about snow accumulation, the snow here is up to his nuts!

We got less than an inch of snow, but it's drifting badly for what we got. A friend of mine stopped by this morning and said that where the banks were raised above the road, the drifts were surprisingly bad, especially on the curves. It's a very fine, light, dry snow. The ground is nearly bare in some places and then a little over a foot where it's drifted. It's very windy.

24 plus inches, severe winds and drifting snow... can't even get the blower out before I clean up 2 heavy fallen branches,.

This isn't as much fun as I remembered, lol

Nothing is going to move here for a couple days, the city?, probably a week or more, lol

While a lot of the country has had plenty of winter, my area, at 3700 feet, that can get some real winter, has been essentially snow free. Maybe 6” all winter in 1/2-1” increments. Which melted within a day or two. Really unusual for our area. Last year at this time we had 16-18” on the ground.

At 2 am on my way home from work ther was a little in the edges of the road. In an area I drove through. Absolutely nothing on the ground hat the farm lightly snowing small flakes now. I think the ground may be hard enough I can get out and cuts some wood without geting stuck or making more ruts so that is today's plan.

We are making out fine despite the dire warnings from the weather guessers that we were probably all going to die from this super nor’easter. First they had us in the 12 to 18 inch range, then cut that back to the 8 to 12 inch range, then cut it back further as the event was happening to the 3 to 5 inch range.

We ended up with about 7 inches. LOL

I got us plowed and shoveled as soon as the flakes stopped flying this morning.





It’s getting windy out now and I expect we will probably lose power because our electric provider is very unreliable. They’ve already put out their standard bull crap warning that they are aware of severe weather causing outages in the area and that they will fix it when they get around to it.

This was a problem at some point but folks gotta get to the poultry houses to tend to them and can’t wait on the government. Something to be said about living in the farming community.

Kinda hard to measure the snow here in CT . Wicked bad windy this one was, I would say somewhere around 20 inches with Big drifts . it was very heavy wet snow stuck to everything couldn't see out any windows in the house just plastered with the white stuff . Glad I have the Bobcat loader for this one .

Well, just came inside....snowblower started right up! made it 50' and died, been chipping away with the shovel, and to add insult to injury, me the genius, tried to blast out to the road in the truck, didn't make it...lol, so back to chipping tomorrow unless my buddies son in law can be lured with some cash to knock it out after he finishes my friends place...sigh...

Glad we missed the big snow storms so far this winter. I know exactly what you are up against.
