We had been asked to help out two Amish sheep farmers that just had a couple sheep and a goat killed by coyotes both sheep had been taken but the goat had been left tangled in the wire
The two farms were seperated by a utility road that cut thru there fields and some dense tangle it went back just about a mile to a series of ponds with a big turn-around then back up to a big manure pile just behind the first barn
I have never seen the amount of coyote sign that i was looking at ... ever.... the road was pounded up and back with track+urine so much scat that i filled a1/3 of a 4 gal bucket they were farther east of lake Erie but still had about 6 in of snow
i noticed there road was some what plowed and asked how it was being maintained and they showed me an all steel wheel tracktor with a push blade ...and said they would have no problem clearing the road i asked if they could catch about 3 ft either side of the road
hoping to be able to make sets just off the pounded road.... they mentioned that no traps were to be set on Sundays so we figured to set-up the job on Mon am
The coyotes here in WNY seem to have been paired up for quite a while already so i wanted to go into the job with a quality heated-up lure so i gave mr Jamison a call and exsplained the situation he hand selected 2 different lures and a ultra-concentrated in heat urine
which he gave me instructions on how it should all be used... Monday am came and my son and i started setting up just off the roadway it had been completely clear with both sides ripped down to the sod all ready the coyotes had marked what seemed to be every 10 ft heading back to the ponds we set 2 traps per set all walk-thrus and posts there were a few chuck holes that we utilized to get the lure deep
We had great results the 6 days we were there (with one being a 3 legged adult female ) [Linked Image]

and i know for a fact that using the in heat concentrated lures made a huge difference..... Mr Bob Jamison truly has "magic in a bottle"

Great job! I'm sure you will have a farm to trap this coming fall.
