Has anyone painted the Sunguard fiberglass beaver rods? Would be nice so they aren’t bright white and hide easier. I just wonder if the paint would stick with the coating on the rod?

I painted a bunch of white 3/8" fiberglass rods for rats. Used bright orange paint supposedly made for plastic, fiberglass, metal, on about 6" of rod. It chips off and just naturally wears off just from handling.

Just doing what I want now.

I spray paint mine black every season if they need it. Some of the paint does get worn off.

I have all my fiberglass water stakes painted. They are color coded from 4' to 8' but I have no beaver rods (1/2" dia. X 10'). Really for the 6 -8 weeks they are out during the season the color is all I am concerned about for length (Rat stakes). I am religious about storing them under shelter to keep the uV rays off of them for the 10 months they are not outside. Shedding splinters is a sure sign of too much sunlight so a coat of house paint (oil) with your choice of color would be a good investment and slow the glass shard deterioration. Paint mine as needed which is usually a dozen or so each year. 4' of 1" dia. PVC with a cap on 1 end and paint added for dipping works for me. My experience. ................the mike
