I need to raise chickens laugh

Are those just starting to lay pullets or older hens?

Not sure what a pullet that just started to lay is going for here.
Think we are about to get a couple dozen chicks to raise as replacements for our aging flock

I hear you on the hawks
And coyotes and bobcats and foxes and coons and ..................................

Everything may not taste like chicken but there are dang sure a bunch of critters that like the taste of chicken

17 week pullets here are $12 to $15 each, for standard breeds. Them fancy ones go for a bit more. 4H birds go for top dollar.

They started laying in october.

I had a owl visit last night and a hawk this morning.
I encorage true crows to help with the hawks and i have to get creative to deter the owls...

Most of my chickens roost in various coops but i got a few freedom lovers that hit the treetops everynight..i mean WAY up high.
