I was replacing trap tags earlier today on my grandpa’s old northwoods #3 dbls. I came across one of his old trap tags and I’d like to clean it up and do some sort of shadow box or epoxy coaster for my old man and incorporate it in there. Has anyone done anything like this or any other thoughts?

The coaster would be cool. I've never made anything like that but there is probably some sort of kit available to make them.

You can buy clear epoxy, that won't yellow, that is thin enough to self level when you pour it, on sites like Amazon. You can make a mold, or just cut it with a scroll saw. Sanding with progressively finer grits makes it see through again.

People make awesome tables with epoxy poured on live edge wood, in a frame. You could even do something like that with a trap embedded in it.

Clean up the #3dls. Flatten and polish the tag. Rivet it to the top of a long spring. Make a wall hanger for pops
