Me and my buddy scouted two places for beaver that are pretty far back in and found some fairly fresh chews and one (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) that didn’t seem to have any super fresh activity at it. We also found a castor mound at each spot but we never found a bank den or lodge. So my question is how far will a beaver typically travel from there den and are they making castor mounds on the edge of there territory or just kinda wherever? I’m trying to gauge if it’s worth it to set traps or not.

I’m trying to get my buddy his first beaver. I’ve had some luck in the past but it’s been a few years since I’ve trapped beavers. We might give it a go either way but just curious what you all think.

Some beaver dont have lodges and feed beds. They just go under roots or whatever..especially in our rivers

When the ice goes out and the waters high theyll.go for miles and develop new territory.

Its basically the spring run.

Foothold sets with lure or fresh bait and no lure will work. Make a fake slide wirh your hands or feet and set a foothold either with lure or with fresh bait and no lure.

Good luck

IF IDIOTS GREW ON TREES THIS PLACE WOULD BE AN ORCHARD !
