If you had set 4 cages....
I'd rather set 4-6 cages for one skunk, than 1 cage for 4 (or more) skunks (any animal). I have four baited cages nearby, but the Comstock is catching everything and it is 5 minutes away.

Would I be right that all 4 were males? Move the baited cages and gang set around the burrow into crawlspace. I suspect a female under the house that hasn't come out yet, if the TN skunk rut is the same as New England. I haven't had any skunk calls yet, but expect them any day now. And food bait isn't needed if positioned right, the real bait is waiting for the male suitors. Could take a week or two for her to come out. The rut is normally mid February, but it was unseasonably warm. Getting cold again.

NY is definitely moving along.
5 skunks in 4 days last week at a home. Comstock positive sets all the way.
2 out of 3 traps on a municipal barn had skunks this morning after being set yesterday.
I don't use bait until I'm dealing with babies around May/June

4 skunks last week. 3 in Comstocks, males coming through pinch points to access the property. 1 in a baited trap to pick up the female coming out of her den.
8am I have a lead for skunks. Customer says holes at foundation. Thinks they’re in her basement. I pre qualified as the house sounds less than in good shape.

Hard to beat Jim's traps. I use them often with great success. The 24s double as great groundhog traps as well. I use the nose cone and three way splitter regularly for skunks and groundhogs.
