Im looking into buying a shipping container for my hunting property. I talked to one transport company about delivery and they told me they will not deliver a container unless its a straight shot onto the property. My property runs parallel to the road. For those who have had containers delivered is that the case.

No ...I've got a curvy and challenging driveway , but we made it work

I remove a tree or two before they showed up

Doesn't sound correct. I have had 2 - 40ft high cubes delivered with no issues to our farm. They do need about 100 feet straight shot from where you are setting it to slide it off the trailer.
Both of ours were what they call 1 trips - basically brand new. Very nice.
I will message you the lady myself and several neighbors have used for containers the last 2-3 years.
She does an excellent job.

You can have them drop the container on the road and position it where you want it with a mule or other skid steer. A friend of mine just did that. He just put the forks under the front lip, chained the container so it couldn't slip and drove backwards to where he wanted it. He just let the back edge drag, but you could put some sort of axel or wagon gear with wheels on, if the ground is rough enough to damage it.

He moved a 20' container. If you're moving a 40' one, you need a tow motor that can lift at least 5000 to 6000 pounds to move it by dragging it that way. With a jack and wheels on both ends, you could use a smaller machine.

You could also put wood under it and sled it into place.

When I need to move heavy things like that build low areas up with timbers/wood , jack it up put rollers under the item and the roller roll smoothly on top of the wood. push, pull, come along it into the location I want it. Angle the rollers in the direction it needs moved helps. Jack it is remove rollers and timbers and its in place

Depending on weight I have used different materials. A few thousand lb yard barn on mostly level ground I used 6" plastic pipes and 4x6's on the ground to have something smooth and even for the pipe to roll on.

Moving a 70 ton transformer to its place at Gibson County powere plant we built it up with large timber mats, steel pipes for rollers and use a grade all to push it around. I have used logs for other thing in a bind.

The adds i have seen say and show thwm using the mule Keith referred to and hgeting the shipping container exactly where you want it.

The guy I hired had a huge front end loader with forks on it. With a tree belt on one side and a 30 foot opening on the other side to the fur shed he took out a couple dead trees but set it in there no problem. It came in on his semi trailer dropping it straight off the back was not an option because of the pitch lake slope and the gravel pile it was put on to level it.

Find a way to move it and have him drop it off where you can get under it if he can’t do the job with a machine that can move it they are heavy the more doors the more they weigh.

He felt comfortable coming in from the other side my guess he’d rather hit a tree then my fur shed.
