Boost

The best thing you can do is keep clean oil in the engine.

I do, but when it drops cylinders, it starves those lifters for oil. I had a friend with a 2016 that had to have his rebuilt for this reason. He never went over or close on an oil change.

My friend always had his serviced at the chevy dealership, his brother was a mechanic there, His failed at 116 thousand, mine is 106 thousand right now, so we will see if the boost helps. I also have it seviced at the dealership in town.

He said when they fixed his that most fail at 116 thousand. They put in a bigger cam, and new valley and fixed the heads, or replaced them not sure. Then reprogrammed the ignition so it doesn't drop cylinders. It cost him some money but way cheaper than a new truck. He said it runds way better.

It may have the wrong spark plugs and they've backed out a little, I had a mechanic tell me he's seen them blow clear out on that year and motor. It's worth a look.

Dump a can of seafoam in the crankcase and drive it around town for a bit. I also had an oil consumption issue which I believed was the rings from smoke on start up and idle so Ive ran 15-40 in it since. 100000 miles all good.
