You're prob right in the plane k snow. Im not much on air plane and likely conflate the number destination.
I couldn't help but think how just a fraction of the money being spent could easily house all the homeless vets and fix social security.
. The play book seems familiar. A few days to weeks of limited strikes thet stretch into months that become boots in the ground for years only to be abandoned and nothing being accomplished.
May as well finish depleting whats left of our munitions we didnt sell our give away to Ukraine.
History would suggest we dont have a time line goals or clear exit strategy. Why would this time be any different than the last 60 years.
Hopefully when we end up with ground troop they let them fight without rules of engagement handy caps that put outr troops in more danger.
I'm going to guess after about two weeks we dont hear a ton about this---sorta like how Venezuela has slowly faded into the background, Trump doesnt have alot of options on this after taking a pretty big position on keeping us out of long term conflicts during his campaigning. If he is perceived as screwing up the next stages in the execution of this operation by enough of the right OR even more importantly the middle swing vote that got him elected it'll likely completely tarnish his presidency and set us up for democratic control beyond what is going to take place in the mid terms
I hope so. And that maybe this creates some stability in the region.
Either that or go all in total war fight to win none of the hearts and minds bs or police keeping nonsense. Go in with clear objective, contingency plans, and know when and how to make a quick clean exit.
Iran needed dealt with as did Sadam and that mess Afghanistan. I just dont want to see a repeat of the last two. Had a few young men I knew through my brother in law and sent packages to in Afghanistan that are dead now . Some in combat, some to their own hand when they got back. I see my brother in law struggling with the losses of friends and his own internal conflicts to this day. Sometimes taking a necessary shot is still difficult to live with. It may not be the bad actor being killed thats hard but the faces of the kids that witness the bad guy geting taken out ( the kids teacher that was calling in mortars on our guys from the school yard ) My brother in law just said probably I just created 20 more terrorists that day but had no choice. Morters were geting walked in and right on top of my guys. ( one of the drunk emotional stories I was told back when he first got back and having a hard time dealing.) For some reason he would talk to me and guys he served with but no one else. I dont know why he was comfortable sharing with me other than I was available and always been a big brother to him since he was 8.
And what good did it do looking at the place today. We pulled out and all of it seems to have been for nothing.
Im not anti war its absolutely necessary at times. I am against forever wars and our troops hands behind their backs and expecting them to fight like that.
Go in hit them quick hard kill them all and move on. Thats probably not profitable enough though.
Im becoming cynical I do believe.
