Had the first grosbeak this weekend.
Put out grape jelly for the orioles, expecting them any day now. Same with the hummingbirds.
Also had a green heron come through. Cool birds.

First hummingbird showed up at the feeder this morning. I was buzzed by a hummer last evening, so I broke out the feeders. Haven't seen one on the feeders yet, but I'm sure they will find them soon.

What a difference a month makes, actually about two weeks. Gone are everything at the feeder except for the locals and a few migrating Hummers. Its so quiet in the mornings now.

First killdeer today, always a welcome sight here. Definitely a sign of spring, saw a pair of birds building in a nest box I put up Sunday. A killdeer nest is across the street from my house. She was setting on it week before last on a night that got down to 35. Will know soon.
