Went on post , Fort Sill, for some new eyeglasses. Readers, essentially. Decided to stop by the PX for lunch and to shop.

In comes a couple of guys who were so out of regs that “ if ya know, you know.” Only thing uniform on them were their trousers, unbloussed. One wearing a Mizzou hoody, other wearing a combat shirt. Both wearing ball caps, and scruff. Both had their hands in their pockets . But, if you’ve been around “ those” kind of folks, you can kinda tell who they are.
Immediately, thought,” Green berets”.
Then, I see this Sgt. Major come up and start to address them.
One says,” You’re way down on the food chain, SgtMgr.” And kept right on walking.

About choked on my commissary spring rolls.

Honor a Soldier. Be the kind of American worth fighting for.

I like that. Not being military I wish I knew more about the ranks. I was dating a gal when I graduated and instead of enlisting like I had planned I shacked up with her at college instead. Funny how life is.

That's a pretty good one Aaron. Here's one I still chuckle at. We had a new 1st sgt come into the company. My guess he had never been around a engineer company. Us mechanics after morning formation changed over to our work uniforms. That was OD green coveralls, with rank pinned on, U S Army and name sewed on them and low quarter steel toe shoes. Oh my did he hate that. Had some problems with him about it for awhile. The battalion Sgt Major must have finally talked to him because he quit harassing us.
