Find a great blind set location, then dig a nice deep pocket set right into it and bait it with a big chunk of fish or a big piece of muskrat = perfect mink set IMO.

Mink- blind set. 110 body grip on a trail.
Muskrats- open water- set 1.5 foothold on the hut where the muskrat climbs up.

The bottom edge set is great for both mink and muskrats.

I use almost all bottom edge and blind sets with body grips. It will not only catch mink but is a killer on muskrats.
The pocket set is probably the best all around mink set when banks aren't frozen, but will also catch coon, otter, muskrats, beaver, and virtually any critters that swims or roams the banks.
Most of the season i target only mink and rats and i try to avoid the others unless trapping for them specifically.
In my opinion a pocket set should be set with a drowning wire , cable, or pole which is alittle more time consuming.
I've had good luck with muskrat or fish when I used alot of pocket sets. For rats any good commercial lure works. I make my own out of some common ingredients. Check the archives for more info on lure. Be aware that using rat
lure you will also attract other critters, especially coon and beaver. Even caught a porcupine once on a rat feedbed at the end of an old log fifteen yds from shore with my homemade rat lure.

Best sets for rats are feedbeds, runs, dens and on huts.
Whatever you decide to use keep an open mind and have fun!

My favorite baits are the hind half end of a mink, muskrat in a pocket.
Favorite set is blind set to catch them in. My biggest producer is muskrat run that is also bottom edge in a culvert

Blind sets mostly for me. I did pick up a few in pocket sets but did better when I really targeted them in blind sets.

I just snare them, no bait ot lure....You can hang more snares in the time it takes to dig a pocket.

Pocket set for mink baited with a nice chunk of fish, or half a muskrat carcass, or half a female mink
carcass.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

The location dictates the appropriate type of set to use but all are blind! Blind sets depend on knowledge of the inherent behavior of the mink.
Bottom edge set
Indent set- foothold
Top edge set- foothold
