I guess I wasn’t aware that a convicted felon can’t possess a taser in the state of Illinois.
Is that a federal thing or just a state thing?
There was a guy here in an Illinois county a few months ago,who was a convicted felon,,, who had a court appearance on an unrelated matter… and of course you have to go through the metal detector before entering… he put his stuff in the basket and upon seeing the taser,,, he was arrested for possession of it.
I didn’t know a taser could be considered a deadly weapon..
I didn’t learn a few years back that it’s a flipping felony to even possess a sling shot in the state of New Jersey.

State thing.

Tasers are not listed as firearms federally. They may be arms under 2A but not regulated at the federal level save for some exclusion zones like airports under TSA or federal prisons/courthouses.

State. Alot of probation conditions were written "can not possess firearms" since Muzzleloaders are not firearms Felons could use those. Now We see it written "No dangerous devices" That may include things like bows and tasers, it's overly broad and sets people up for failure.

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, & I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve
