Hello All,

I am a bear guide by trade but Ive had several people ask if I would help provide Fisher Trapping experiences. Ive trapped most of my life, monkeyed a bit with live traps and caught fisher in those as those turn into a very easy cubby. The thing is we have many large fisher here and want to make sure I get the proper size box trap for them. Even though I have let fisher go with a cable restraint while using regular traps I like idea of the live trap. That way the person can choose whether to keep the animal or not and just would be better all the way around for the animal and the easy release. Anybody got any pointers for dimensions. I see one of the live trap makers make one like 10x12 by 32 but that seems a bit small? Thanks Joe

I would think any cage trap that works for large coon should work for fisher.... , but have no experience with fisher, so YMMV...

i would check with your local DNR as most furbears have seasons and cannot be killed outside of them specially not by some bear hunter

I think he is wanting to offer this after bear season ends and fisher season opens.

They aren't as tall or as heavy as a coon, 30" coon size cage works fine.

Fisher season starts after bear season, it was just a simple question. I obey the laws this is why I hate to post anything on here because some people make it out more than what it really has to be and thank you to the other folks I appreciate it.
