Honestly, it was a day!.. a very long day split between hauling sap, feeding the fire, and monitoring the boil.

That is the way we did the sapping as kids. Milk cans on the toboggan and dump sap in milk cans and pull to the pan. We cut sawmill edgings/slabs to length to dry during off season for fuel. Great times.
