I tell them I can live relocate all the tick biters, possums, ground hogs, coons, skunks, rats, etc over to their house.
They usually re-evaluate the situation.

Might be worth a shot just making your own? I made one with a one way lock. It's certainly not as nice as the manufactured one but it works. Only used it once and that was just to try it out, but handy to have I guess.

If allowed on here maybe it's time for a home made catch pole how to or 3. The new trappers need one but think they can't afford one.
I am not saying Warrior is new. Wish I was lol.

Unfortunately, live removal is probably the only solution if you have an audience. Even though that may technically be illegal. In NC, we can release on the same property where caught or euthanize. Removing from the property alive is technically not allowed unless it is a canine in trapping season and you have a transportation permit required for live removal (live market). Outside trapping season, live removal is not allowed.
Death Ray is a great tool for no discharge areas where the potential for hostile observers is not an issue.

in cases like that or even in other places (trapping nuisance coyotes or fox in subdivisions) its easier to have cages ready for critters in your vehicle and than you could remove said critters and dispatch them in a more private area plus trappers should carry a catch pole or tongs in all cases you never know when you will need them This^^^^is the way to handle this incident. Could've even told soy boy that the coyote was gonna be released in a "safe" area. And Georgia law requires a choke stick/device to be carried by all trappers.

As far as I know, it's made the same way. Lee sold the death ray business to them and his website links to them. They have Lee's endorsement and I haven't heard any tales of a drop in quality. Blakeley's Trapping sells a more budget-minded alternative in the Trappers Pole and I can confirm that it works.

For years I didn’t have a release pole. But 2 years ago I bit the bullet because of all the feral cats and dogs. And then I caught the same cat in 2 snares 20 ft apart. The first release took a couple minutes to get the pole loop on and remove the snare. The second time, the cat understood. Or didn’t have much energy to fight it. Now I have a release pole in the truck 24/7. It’s great PR when I’m talking to land owners. The same-cat-released-twice story always opens doors. In my experience, cats don’t pull hard enough to get into much trouble. Since I check every day and try to avoid entanglement, the snare loop is easily slipped off once the cat settles down.
Never too old to learn
