Beretta has been attempting a hostile take over of Ruger. Two great companies, would hate to lose Ruger as we know it.

I'd hate to see it. Beretta makes grossly overpriced guns. Would hate to them control Ruger.

I hope Ruger can maintain their ownership. They make great products.

I disagree, beretta make top shelf guns with great quality control. Find a better $700 rifle than a tikka or a better semi auto shotgun than a $800 A300

I like both gunmakers.

But, Blaine County, John McClane and Martin Riggs all carry Beretta 92Fs (mine is a 92FS).

Beretta owns a lot already , I would say Ruger should stay Ruger and keep bringing American firearms to the American market.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Had to send back a Ruger LCP max for repair. Started jamming constantly. Gun was 2 years old. Roger repaired it and sent it back. No charge. Gotta 100 rounds through it so far and all is good. Will shoot at least a hundred more just to be sure. The process was pretty simple, and service rep was nice. He spoke English as a first language, which really helped.

I like ruger. Never owned a Berretta for very long. Had a 9mm pistol for about a month. Buddy sold it to me cheap as he had gotten himself pretty broke. Had no use for it. Not any easier to carry than a 1911 IMO. Sold it at a gun show for a nice profit. Guy stopped me on my way in to ask if it was for sale. Quoted him a big price. Figured if he was serious we could negotiate. Pulled out cash and deal was done.

So far as I know though both make quality guns. Had to put a timney trigger in a 77 mark II ruger. Except for that sorry trigger every ruger I own has been reliable. I too hope berreta doesn't manage a take over. I doubt quality suffers but ruger is another great American success story.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

I'd settle for an M77 collection from .22 LR to .308 including a .45 cal inline muzzle loader.
