I’ve got to go and get that tree off the roof. He was renting to own,,, I don’t know if there was insurance on it or not.

This is my son who lost his house last October and peg and I had our grandkids staying with us until he could get a place.

Holy Moly!!! Glad all are ok. I'm surprised that didn't go all the way through the house. I hope all goes well going forward.

If he has insurance that will cover the removal don't bother doing it yourself, that is going to be a difficult removal. Also don't hire the guys who are going to try and charge $30,000 and claim the insurance will cover it, or the guys who won't give a price, they're all a bunch of scammers.

I’m going to agree with Trap and Donnor on this one……I’m pretty handy with saw but better get a pro with some equipment on that one….. look dangerous to me.

that type of weather might have disaster aid available usually dont trickle down to those who need it but you never know

I agree that is a complex tree with a lot of weight in places you can't get to , that is going to take some equipment to get done without getting hurt or causing even more damage.

on a rent to own it will depend on the contract how that has to get handled and both parties should have insurance on it.

How does anyone not have Home Owners insurance these days? Either him as the buyer or the current owner as the seller?

When the home inspection was done, the inspector should have documented the obvious potential danger from that dead tree. If they didn't, they are liable for the damage it caused.

X2 I cannot imagine owning anything of much value without insurance. A car, an expensive boat, a camper, and especially your home.
