Any of you all have experience with one? I'm looking to get one for my 1911 for a western elk hunt next fall.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I have had a Kenai chest holster that I primarily wear fishing in Alaska every year. I have a shell for my Glock G40 10mm and one for my Glock 17L 9mm for 7 or 8 years. When adjusted right it rides good and distributes the weight well. The mag release is protected well to prevent premature ejections of the magazine into the water which I have witnessed others fishing with me having this issue with other cheaper chest rigs multiple times. I got the shell for the 17L for my around the woods in WV carry around the farm.
Easy on easy off.
I will also add it is easy to keep clean and I have not experienced any marring of the finish on either of the guns carried in it.

Gary - Any experience wearing it with backpacks? That was one of my concerns. Not a huge overnight pack, but a normal daypack sized backpack. I have worn the Kenai with my 10mm and a Badlands Super Day daypack on a couple of occasions. I use the pack to pack in my waders, rod, etc. to fish more remote in Alaska. I fasten the chest strap of the pack behind the Kenai holster shell. I have not had any access issues or comfort issues hiking/fishing several hours with both the pack and chest rig on. The key for both the pack and the chest rig is to get them adjusted correctly for fit and optimal weight distribution and I are set.

I wear one under my Alaska Guide Creations bino pack while wearing my EXO 3500 pack. I takes a minute to get used to it but now I don't even notice it. As stated practice with it. Unload you pistol and find a safe spot and train you muscles to draw it properly. I also have a shell for my S&W 629 44 Mag that I carry as well as the Glock 10 MM

Any issues with noise from the clips/joints?
Some of the stuff I have read, people complain that they creak and can pinch. I will say that the joints are a bit stiff when new if I remember right and I could see where minor creak might be an issue when brand spanking new, but having used mine a fair bit over the last 7 years or so mine is well "broke in". It would not take much to work the joints a bit for smooth fit/operation.

I do prefer my Glock 17l under the harness vs my 10mm just alittle less bulky. It also works nicely with my sling pack while fishing. When I slide my sling pack around to my chest it is a smooth transition
