Cousin called wants to go fishing. Im not up to it but agreed to go to take the boys that have never salt water fished. Not sure if the fish have moved in but I suspect they will get to catch something.

I get to hang out with my cousin. Fingers crossed I dont get run down and have a relapse. Cousin is excited sent me this saying the boat is ready.

Cool, last time I fished in Mississippi, caught some big bull reds, and some trout. The trout were great eating. Enjoy your trip.

Pay attention to state lines when you need gas. Hit Tennessee and price went up 35 cents over ky. I suspect it will drop when hitting Mississippi.

Are you going to take a cast net and do some shrimping, while you're out on the boat?

Your boys on spring break?

Spring break , fall break is anytime we want. Homeschooling at its best.

Yes we have a cast net but likely will buy some bait. Not sure about exact time frame or plan other than bait shop early and hit places close tell we hit limits of what's biting or we get board and head further out.

It's my first time down here and been 4 or 5 since my cousin has been.

Trip was a bust.

Wind was high and water rough. Constant fighting, the boat, rough to stay on your feet at times, fish were not biting . Cought a few small cats, a croker. Casting caught some jelly fish.

Hydroponic pump on the tilt and trim went out. So way wer were going to go out 12 miles in rought water with boat having issues.

After the long drive, rough day in the sun on the water, little biting and boat acting up we headed home last night driving half way.

At least you guys got to go and do something different! At least that's what I always tell myself when trips go that way.

Life never goes as planed. How we adjust to it is what matters.

Im starting to kick myself for not stopping at the cmp store and looking over their m1 grands in the rack. It was not far out of the way and I havw wanted one for decades. Its what grandpa carried across Europe. But it was out of the way some and I was having some minor issues with my body acting up and wanted to get home ASAP. Im scheduled to work nights and starting night shift weeks already run down is not a great idea. Nightshifts have not gone well in the last few months as it is.

I did realize how much of a work out it is operating and being on a boat in rougher water and wind. And for on the ocean it was not rough water just rough for the around 27or 30' boat we were in.

Youngest didnt puke but was feeling and looking pretty green.

Sorry to hear it was a bust PF. We went fishing in Florida after our gator hunt, it was a bust too due to the cold weather. Really wanted to catch a tarpon, the Captain did everything he could to get us on fish, but you can’t control the weather.
