Looking to pick up a couple dozen bobcat traps. Would be mainly for exposed sets. Which do people prefer? Considering the MBs, new dukes, and No BS.

MB550 with Wild River expanded trap pans. Been running them a few seasons and they are the perfect combination. Easy to pack and plenty big enough for exposed traps.

If traps work like the Antis say......I would have no fingers.

Haha yep. We was showing off his new toys at the fur sale a few years back and that's when I decided to change out some of my traps. Now its 80% of my line.

Caught cats in both MB 550 and Bridger 3's coils. They both work.

Quite a few guys prefer double longs for exposed sets, because they don't freeze down. Or rather it doesn't matter if the springs freeze down, they'll still go off.

Good point bearcat. I’ve always used coil springs so I’m leaning that way. Guess that’s why they say there is more than one way to skin a cat?

I used to use DLS, but with the smaller coildsprings, I can put 6 traps and pack them up the hill pretty easy. I can only fit 3 DLS in the same backpack. But I do agree, the DLS is the perfect exposed trap because you can make the pan as big as you want without having to worry about levers pushing the pan up.
