I know I am guilty of focusing too much on length and get my cats narrower than I should. I use home made adjustable stretchers. I always center the pelt then pull the back down til it's snug and put some pins in the base of the tail to hold that length. Then I spread the stretchers to take up the slack and pin the legs. The results are uniform but narrow (quite a bit narrow if I used Eric's ruler).

Unfortunately, I haven't taken the time to make it to one of your demos. With your method and stretchers would you say the dimensions come out pretty close to what Eric advocates with his ruler? It sounds like I have been leaving money on the grading table by not making my bellies wider.

I see good and bad,,, promotion of trapping and the fur industry rocks…
The downside,,, high prices bring out the riff raff,, and rules mean nothing to some of these people..
A body grip or foothold in the wrong place or an illegal set will be plastered all over and used to the antis advantage screaming that being common practice.

That is the "no turn" method. Quite a few people use it on cats, and most who do will tell you about it in excruciating detail. Lol. There is a bit more to doing it and having the hide dry properly than he showed. Personally I prefer turning them myself. Less trouble in my opinion, there are people who put up very nice cats with the no turn method, however.
