Before my wife retired a few years ago she hired a cleaning service to clean the house a couple times a month. On the day they were scheduled to clean she would vacuum the floors and do some light dusting. Now due to some health issues and advancing age she is interviewing a girl to do some cleaning as I write this. For the girl to come to see what all needs to be done, she did some light cleaning.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Your wife obviously cares about the appearance of your home. She probably considers it a direct reflection of her housekeeping abilities.

I work for several wealthy customers who have cleaners come in every week. The wives never clean prior to the cleaners showing up. They don’t give a crap. In fact, I doubt many of them have ever touched a vacuum sweeper or dust rag in their lives.

Eh...wot?

Welcome to my world. Wife has cleaners twice a month. $120 per visit. Vacuums and dusts before they arrive. Complete clean freak. Cant see the top of her desk though.

My wife does the same thing, lol
We hired a woman to help clean due to my wife's progressing MS.... and my wife would do a pre clean to her ability...
But the cleaner got progressively more expensive and only did a fair job....So I now get to do the heavy cleaning, and save some money....

But in speaking to the cleaners, we learned that many of their clients, especially of a certain flavor, NEVER cleaned anything, leaving dirty dishes piled up, clothes dropped where they were removed, and bathrooms that looked like a failed lab experiment, even expecting the cleaners to change bedding....

I understand the cleaning lady, but cleaning before they show up eludes me.

Interesting subject...My wife was a professional cleaner for years, and there is a perception/pride component to being in that profession, just like there is being a refuse worker.

Here's what's eye popping...She was knocking down 6 figures per year, and wasn't far off my job which required licensing & ongoing education.

Think if I were to do it all again, I would be a cleaner!... Lol.

The same with dishwashers. My wife always washed the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. If I put a dirty dish in it she’d get it out and wash it then put it back in. Why loose the cupboard space if you’re going to wash everything in soap and water first. Now that I am having to do all the cooking and cleaning I never clean a dish before putting them in the dishwasher. And surprise, surprise, surprise. They come out clean.

When we were little kids, our mom would always make us brush our teeth extra long and extra thoroughly, right before going to the dentist and check our mouths after we did so.
