I caught several in a KB 5.5, set them intentionaly when we could keep them and would use them again. The largest one I weighed was 150 on a taxidermist scale, had one I skinned where I caught it I could hardly pick it up! Shot all of them with a 22lr I trap with a dog and have got a few with the dog too. There are a lot of the big cats here, had one in Feb. at the school playground while school was in session , our game warden "rescued" it!

Wow, I never dated any women THAT big.

Holy Whale! How much bigger were the women you dated than that??? Did they have the gravity pull of Uranus? LOL

I had one pull out of a 650 after knocking down an opening in an alder grove. Also held them in #3 LSs. My choice would be 1/8th snares.

Was wondering about the snare scene. They are now legal here.

Sam you know as much about my gear as I do LOL
I love the LPCs but these things here will outperform those old school pan system by far. Shout out to the Hammer for the dogless conversation & Flipper for some sound advice

For those poor souls who haven't had to listen to me brag before now
These are the only SC 4.5 dogless I know of.

Those traps still look awesome, Lefty! If I ever had to catch a lion, I'd be trying to buy one of those off of you.

Lefty, I've turned one loose out of an SC 4 1/2, not all fancy like yours, but it held it just fine, with damage to the trap.

Thanks, Lefty. I don't think I'll be in lion country any time soon, but I sure appreciate the offer.

Just remember to not say anything if you catch one around home. Don't want to read about you in the news. Practice the 3s's.

If I ever catch one around home, I'll scratch it behind the ear and let him go. Lol.
I think I've only found tracks four times in the last 25 years, so it isn't too likely that I'll ever encounter one.

If you talk to our DNR they will say we don't have any in the state. We all know better. So I don't know how much trouble a person would get into if you had one in a trap. I don't know if I would want to get close enough to release one.

Backroadsarcher, I think if I caught one, I might find a way to limber it up a little before I released it.
