For home or business. Which do you prefer? Metal or plastic pan. If possible, list the model number that you prefer.
Lowes you can buy m205 or order the m326.
The metal pan trap is m200. I believe each model has its place.
Just trying to get an idea which overall is the go to type. These would be for home and commercial use.

Thanks, Sarge

Much like a pit pan dog the angle of the tip for sensitivity and pan weight. My standard practice on every new snap is pop the staple to free the dog, set dog tip on pan staple, and take just a bit of the bow out of the dog by pressing down on the middle of the dog.

Set with dog to the left of the pan with it facing away. It should be hair triggered with pan level, if not adjust dog bow.

Pan should never be cocked up in the air. You want it flat and hair triggered so a touch anywhere sets it off. Keep your bait confined to just the cup at the rear so they have to touch the pan.

With it level it can be set as a blind set on trails.

I've set thousands of snaps in the dark by feel in attics and crawlspaces over the couple decades.

Warrior, do the metal petals traps have a place or go strictly with the yellow pans? The yellow ones can be finicky at times.
Thanks, Sarge

I've made large pans out of political yard signs for the metal trigger rat traps.

Victor Pro, yellow pan. Easy to set, less finger pain. As Warrior said, Easy to tune. Very versatile trap, rats, mice, chipmunks, red squirrels, flying squirrels, small birds (sparrows, starlings), weasels.
I get a box of 10 or 12 at a time from WCS, for home and commercial use.

Not in my inventory, pretty much untunable and require a rat, flier, or chipmunk to fully commit and cross to much space. With rats that can be bad neophobic or fliers that have to be precisely on location blind sets thats a non starter.

The tuning removes the finicky bit.

Use new clean for fliers.

An awful lot of short tailed weasels have been caught in a #1.5 long spring foot trap. It acts as a body grip for them but is set for the animal to STEP on the pan. If using (what you have handy) a 1.5 lonspring with the rat BAIT set on and under the wobbly pan has worked for me as the common wood and bigger Norway rats easily spring a properly tuned trap. Even a tuned and stabilized 110 size BG with a wire mesh bait basket fastened to the trigger works for me in a pinch if in a pet area. Depends on how many and what the area you are setting in as to the best trap. For a big infestation where you have reduced the population and can't clean up the debris (dairy, farm or junk settings) this internet tube has a multitude of DIY electric systems that keep watch daily-nightly 24-7, 365 and may be a good choice. My experience...................................... the mike
