Listen to your doctor, not some trappers on a forum. Many have shown how little they actually know.

Well I'm not a fan of colometry's, and waited about 4 years.
Was putting Brussel sprouts in the freezer, while blanching they, I would dip a couple in butter and eat them.
Guess I ate more than I should of.
Oh did I hurt.
Went and got a colonoscopy, and the DR said everything was fine, no plops what so ever.
Every 4 years now, but I'll stretch it longer knowing me.
He told me that's the worst thing to eat , along with other cabbage family plants.
IMHO he just doesn't want to lose costumers .
I don't know anything about it, been lucky all my life, can eat anything I want.
But will watch closely how many Brussel sprouts I eat.

Polyps are a whole nother ball game. I had a cancerous one removed when I was in my forties.
Please never "stretch" the time out for your next scheduled colonoscopy. Your life may depend on it.....mine did

This opinion almost completely contradicts Mayo clinic.
So, which one are you supposed to believe?

When you're 20 and drop something you pick it up. When you're 80 you decide you don't need it anymore.

A trained medical person telling it to your face, not an online forum, not Webmd, not an article your uncles cousin found and posted on facebook.

I don’t see where they contradict. The Mayo link focuses on diverticulitis and the Hopkins diverticulosis.
