For the past few years, our springs have become less “spring-like”. To be fair, I really don’t like spring in SW Oklahoma as it just ushers in the brutal summer. In addition to that , it’s not like we have the kind of winter where spring brings in the relief that comes with it . People who live in areas that actually have winters know. I kinda miss that.

But not here. We’re in a very significant drought with no sign of it getting better. I actually didn’t hunt waterfowl this year as some of the holes like to hunt dried up. We’ve been in a “burn ban” since fall . Keep us in your prayers. This isn’t looking good.

Our springs the last four or 5 years have been off too. Almost like it goes right from winter to summer. Differently been drier these years too. Been in bad drought part of that time. 10 degrees Monday morning. Upper 80s yesterday afternoon. Ponds are full and moisture is good right now. But several weeks in the 80s we will be wanting so rain

Drought here the last few years as well. My 40 acre pond is half its original size.

When you're 20 and drop something you pick it up. When you're 80 you decide you don't need it anymore.

I don’t care if some people think I’m a conspiracy theorist nut job.
But I wholeheartedly believe that our whole weather pattern is messed up because of the H.A.A.R.P. Experimental crap.
I was shocked to learn that Illinois had more tornadoes than any other state last year.
You would think Oklahoma, Kansas or Texas would have held that unfortunate crown

Drought/rain is historically a 14 year cycle; 7 years of not enough rain followed by 7 years of too much rain. Farmers I know are always complaining.
Mother nature evens it all out in the end; but, it sure would be nice if there was some consistency year over year.

It is believed that a 350 year drought in the eastern Mediterranean changed world history at the end of the Bronze Age. Wars and massive human migration ensued Civilizations collapsed.

Hope that cheers you up this morning!

This old fishing dock used to be about six feet over the water. This is beyond crazy , folks. I’ve been an Okie for over 30 years , never experienced anything like this. [Linked Image]

We're having an awfully dry spring. I remember when St. Helens blew. That summer of 1980 was hot and dry. About time to go through a brutal spell.

We are struggling a little here in southern Georgia, too.

May be dryer here currently than many other areas.....

So.... you're way behind and looking to make a deal??

Sorry to make light of your situation but i couldn't help myself. But it sounds like you are way behind in the rain dept. Hope you get some soon.

Gotta find a way, a better way, I'd better wait

So old, retired people are to blame?

I have nothing clever to put here.

These comments are not disappointing ! lol
I needed that.

Hate hearing that so many across the country are experiencing similar issues. I see a lot of cattle being sold off cheap around here.
