I have no problem with women in the military....We need them, and it's honorable.
But, not in combat....If a woman gets wounded, 10 men will get killed trying to rescue her.
No disrespect at all, but it's a really bad idea.

I can’t see many women toting one of these for miles.
I don't see many of the men of 2026 doing it either!
I have nothing clever to put here.

I’m fine with women serving in combat and combat related positions. What we don’t need is sexual harassment. Get that out of the military and everyone can concentrate on the mission.
Never too old to learn

Are there any other countries where women serve in actual combat?....Not combat roles, but actual fighting?

Women cant Carry as much weight so someone else ends up packing more, a woman will have a much harder time geting a 200 lb wounded man with 80 lb of kit on him to safty. Young men and women bad combo. Short amount of time and there will be sexual relationships jealous and poor unit cohesion. Men respond differently to a woman blown apart than a man as well. Women make great snipers and some would give some of guys a run for their money but typically its a bad idea to have them in combat..

And I'm not even talking about actual harassment.

There are 6 foot tall women who could toss a lot of infantry men into a fireman's carry and haul them out , are they a minority of women ,Yes. but they exist.
this is 2026 , we need a standard PT test for each MOS you pass or you fail a standard training test for each MOS you pass or you fail.
one thing women need to know fighting in many of the places they might end up , is that they are fighting to the death or it is going to probably be even uglier than if they were a man. Although where we are likely going to be fighting men are probably fighting to the death also. not really much room for surrender and POW in the current theater of war. that is just something they need to know not something that makes them unfit to fight.
Men and women serve together in non direct combat that ends up turning into combat like convoys that are hit by insurgents already.
my opinion is you need to be able to perform to the lever the job you are taking demands. let that be the deciding factor.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I had a female EOD tech in my unit here at Seymour Johnson, and she was exceptional. She could do any task the males could do, including wearing that cumbersome bomb suit. I had no qualms about going out on calls with her.

As a woman, I would have no problem toting that rifle. That said.... I don't believe in women in combat either. And it's for one simple reason. The one given by ky_coyote below. Others mentioned women causing conflict within a unit by simply being female and I have no doubt that is true too. But, even setting that aside... the reason I don't support it is because more men WILL get killed protecting women. You can't change that. It's biology. It's hardwired in men, at least the sort of men that sign up for the military anyways, to be protective of women. It's just nature. Men will try harder to protect women than they would other men, and they will die for their efforts. I feel women are much better suited for support type roles. I have no problem with women in the military....We need them, and it's honorable.

Gotta find a way, a better way, I'd better wait
