Nafa got brought up on one of the trapping groups on facebook .
I know a lot of guys here on trapperman got badly burned.
I never sent anything up there , but I personally know a buyer who did and he took a massive financial hit.
I had heard something about legal action being filed against them, but I couldn’t remember the particulars.
Is there still pending litigation??

There is something going on, I just got a check for $64 in the mail a couple of days ago. There was some legal litigation, but it was basically out of sellers hands. When they declared bankruptcy, a judge immediately issued a ruling that they could not be sued by sellers who had fur up there, and all fur on consignment was seized as NAFA assets. As far as I know, everyone who had fur up there got burned, myself included. They did firesale the fur years later for a tenth or less of its values.

Thats intresting here in the states i thought the custodial account (consigners) is taken care of first in a bankruptcy. Maybe to much US money there the Candian government didn't want leaving....???

I remember the rumor was out for quite awhile they were going broke.

Yep and it concerned me enough that I found alternative buyers after shipping to NAFA for years. Turned out it was a good decision.

I still have a bunch of NAFA shipping bags & tags, I wonder if they're worth anything. LOL

Eh...wot?
