I have a dozen number 3 double long springs and was wondering what I could do with the pans on a budget. I did try the thing that wold did on a thread with the bolt and It worked okay. Any other ideas??

What's the problem as they are?

That's the only picture I have but the pans are a little bent and worn.

You can snug up those pans with careful hammer work. Tapping the slot inward toward the pan arm so it has less room to move sideways helps. Rest the edge of that part of the frame on the flat part of a vice or other solid surface and tap the opposing edge with a small hammer. You are trying to close that slot a little bit. You may want to do both sides. That should help a little.

Just doing what I want now.

Put them on an anvil, on a lot of traps if you compress the springs you can flip both jaws far enough one direction to flop the pan outside the jaws, then you can lay it flat on an anvil or maybe a piece of wood with a slot cut out of it for the center support and pound it flat. If they are rusted thin you can cut a piece of sheet metal and tack weld on if you have a welder.

If you don't weld, a few rivets will hold a new sheet metal pan to the old one. Even a soup can lid will work.
