Brazil the government or multi national corporations headquartered in Brazil?
"To conquer the world market, Brazil’s Big Three beef packers — JBS, Marfrig and Minerva — invited in foreign capital. Today, all three are transnationals, with the original Brazilian founders owning only minority shares in their own companies."
The Redacted administration has forked over more than $62 million — taxpayer cash that was supposed to be earmarked for struggling American farmers — to a massive meatpacking company owned by a couple of corrupt Brazilian brothers.
The Department of Agriculture cut a contract in January to purchase $22.3 million worth of pork from plants operated by JBS USA, a Colorado-based subsidiary of Brazil’s JBS SA, which ranks as the largest meatpacker in the world.
The bailout raised eyebrows from industry insiders at the time, as it was sourced from a $12 billion program meant for American farmers harmed by President Redacted escalating trade war with China and other countries.
JBS N.V. (JBS) I might be an owner?

"JBS has strong commercial ties to China—such as major supply agreements (e.g., a $717 million annual meat supply deal with China's WH Group in 2026, and a $1.5 billion e-commerce pact with Alibaba in 2025)China is a key market for JBS beef/pork/poultry. Marfrig (now merged into MBRF with BRF): Like JBS, Marfrig has pursued sales and joint ventures in China (e.g., past distribution centers with COFCO and recent BRF." My point that apparently bears repeating is: It's foolish to let a foreign country or company to own and control any of our food supply, much more so to own so much. At best, they only care about making high profits by driving our food prices unnaturally high. Worse yet, they could use that control against us in war. There's no doubt that's a major reason why China now controls a significant portion of our food industries. They could introduce diseases, ship it overseas, destroy our food, poison it, or stop production and starve us out. Keith

there are either 3 or 4 companies that run the slaughter and meat packing industry. their greed is in my opinion the driving force behind the skyrocketing prices. they control the industry and set the prices Of course... always the corporations' fault......
Gotta find a way, a better way, I'd better wait

They are paying out lawsuits for price fixing, they may not fully bear all the blame but they should certainly shoulder some of it for price fixing.

Brazil owns a signifcant percentage of the beef processing in the USA The USA is the leading beef producing country with Brazil 2nd and not far behing and China the third. One of the reasons that a lot of USA beef may be exported is due to the foreign ownership of processing. USA capitalist many times will sell out for a profit and not worry much about how things will play out.
Bryce Brazil owns 45% of the beef processing, 30% of the chicken processing and 25% of the pork processing in the US. It's foolish to let a foreign country or company to own and control any of our food supply, much more so to own so much. At best, they only care about making high profits by driving our food prices unnaturally high. Worse yet, they could use that control against us in war. There's no doubt that's a major reason why China now controls a significant portion of our food industries. They could introduce diseases, ship it overseas, destroy our food, poison it, or stop production and starve us out.Keith Imagine how stupid we would think of Brazil if China bought out a significant portion of their beef production. We would think Brazil had gone mad and China was trying to control more of the global meat production. We would think Brazil was greedy and sold their soul to Satan. As bad as this sounds I do think all wholesale production of any food in the US should only be able to be American owned. Other countries that despise us will sacrifice and buy at any cost to defeat us from within. I really don't like saying this but in the national interest and safety, we can't let other countries control our food.
How many lies will people believe before they realize their own idiocy?

Around here, farmers are plowing up pastures and raising rowcrops. Cattle are work. Feedlots employ alot of Mexicans because white boys wont do the work. Dairies employ Mexicans cuz whites wont do the work. Very few young farmers want to do the work of raising aminals. I can buy beef very reasonable from our local locker that still butchers aminals.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Your bitchen should have started 40 years ago when you couldn't give away a beef cow or calf milk was stagnated at below production cost the only value a farmer had was the land he stood on Remember "Farm Aid"or NAFTA when other countries could dump their product at a loss Funny when prices escalate everyone becomes an expert

Many states complaining about deer populations getting out of hand. Might help motivate hunters to harvest more venison. Locally they are getting picked up as soon as they're hit on the road, it's actually nice to see.

Purchased a 1/4 of beef from my brother in law in central Wisconsin. He was a dairy farmer his whole life but now in his 70's he is raising beef. $900.00 total all ready for the freezer. His replacement costs for calves is very high. Glad to help him out which was all due to my poor success deer hunting this past season! Approximately 185 pounds of meat/burger/tallow Chris
